The primary aim of the SEDGs Cell is to address systemic barriers and provide comprehensive support (socio-emotional and academic) to foster an environment where "no talent is left behind" due to socio-economic or geographical constraints.
Key Objectives of the SEDGs Cell:
Protection of Rights: To protect the constitutional rights, dignity, safety, and security of individuals belonging to the SEDGs.
Inclusive Environment: To ensure that the college remains a safe, secure, and discrimination-free campus.
Mentoring & Support: To provide academic mentoring and socio-emotional support through formal counseling and monitoring programs.
Implementation of Policies: To ensure effective execution of Government reservation policies, scholarship schemes, and facilities designed for SEDGs students.
Outreach: To develop outreach programs that help students from marginalized backgrounds access educational opportunities at our institution.
Grievance Redressal: To redress grievances and complaints related to discrimination within 15 days through a formal committee.
Core Functions of the Cell:
Single Window Support: To serve as a "Single Window" for all student needs, amenities, and welfare measures.
Scholarship Coordination: To coordinate with statutory bodies (SC/ST/OBC Cells) to facilitate government scholarships and fellowships.
Academic Bridging: To organize orientation sessions, bridge courses, and remedial coaching to fill academic gaps.
Skill Development: To facilitate "Earn-while-Learn" schemes and conduct workshops on personality development and soft skills to enhance employability.
Sensitization: To conduct regular sensitization programs for faculty, staff, and students to promote an attitudinal change towards inclusivity.
Zero-Tolerance Policy: To strictly enforce a Zero-Tolerance Policy against any form of discrimination or atrocities on campus.
